A Definite Treat this Halloween

Rock for HUManity, a group formed in 2006 by young professionals who bonded with passion for music and the arts, brought their passion to a higher level to pursue the advocacy of advancing the cause of humanity by giving back to the community.

Starting with charity drives, RHum has now expanded to other activities such as community bazaars which aims to showcase local products in the community and other interesting items produced by indiepreneurs -- young and independent artists-entrepreneurs. The RHum TRAVELING COMMUNITY BAZAAR brings you: A HALLOWEEN BAZAAR FOR KIDS & KIDS AT HEART, happening this October 30, 2011, Sunday, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Bulwagang Claret, Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Mahinhin St., U.P. Village, Diliman, Q.C.

The bazaar will will feature food items, handicrafts, junk art, apparel, accessories, artworks, books, paper crafts, toys, vintage items, organic products, indie records, furniture and housewares, novelty items and more. There will also be fun activities for both kids and adults to enjoy: henna tattoo and face painting, photo booth, art and recreational activities, Halloween kiddie costume contest, kiddie fashion show, Halloween cupcake design contest and bazaaristas' trick or treat. Entrance is FREE.

The RHum Halloween Bazaar is for the benefit of child-focused institutions in need of learning materials. The group welcomes any donations of books, school supplies, school bags,toys and other educational materials.

HeartSpeak at the One Bazaar, One Christmas, One La Salle event

HeartSpeak items will be on sale at Bianca Lapus' booth.

The De La Salle College of Saint Benilde Alumni Association or DLS-CSBAA will be having a two-day trade fair entitled, "One Bazaar, One Christmas, One La Salle" on November 25 and 26, Tuesday and Wednesday at the A.Venue Hall in Makati Avenue, Makati City.

Apart from its desire to create camaraderie among La Salle Schools and Chapters, DLS-CBAA also aims is to raise funds for the One La Salle campaign (both for the one million trees and 20% sustained scholarships) through this project.

The "One Bazaar, One Christmas, One La Salle" will be divided into six lanes:

Go Green! (entrepreneurs and business people)

Green Thumb (environmental-friendly products)

Greener Pastures (job opportunities)

Green Room (workshops and seminars)

Think Green! (christmas gift ideas)

That's Green-tertainment! (celebrity lane)

HeartSpeak at the Grand International Celebrity and Charity Bazaar

HeartSpeak items will be on sale at the Party Island booth of Bianca Lapus. The Grand International Celebrity and Charity Bazaar will be held at the World Trade Center, Pasay City from November 21 to 23, from 10 am to 9 pm.

Ticket sales proceeds will go to Bantay Bata and the DZMM Medical Missions.

HeartSpeak's 1st Year Anniversary

Looking Forward to 2008

Four hours more to go before 2008 sets in...time went by so fast this 2007 that a lot had happened to me, especially to my budding enterprise, HeartSpeak.

This year is special because HeartSpeak Fashion Accessories was born (March 2007). Although I have been designing and making fashion accessories since my childhood days and selling them to friends, relatives and resellers, 2007 made my business official. I opened my online store in Multiply and gained new clients and friends. This year also gave me opportunities to join bazaars and get publicized on TV. I also met wonderful people who offered their help to me to grow my business for 2008. See, I have so much to thank for.

And I plan to give back the blessings to my clients by providing them unique and quality products that they can treasure and share with their loved ones. I wish that 2008 will be better and brighter for HeartSpeak and for all of us. :)

HeartSpeak featured on TV :)

Yes! My first public appearance on cam was realized via the GMA-7 program "Kay Susan Tayo" which was aired this morning, Dec. 2 at 10 am. They featured the Cubao Holiday Bazaar Expo and my booth had the longest exposure, next to Ms. Sandy's The Reading Room. So happy! Thanks again, Sandy. :)

It was weird and exciting to see myself and my mom on TV. The interview portion was edited really short but the booth and product shots were long and gave my accessories biz quite a good exposure. The shoot took place last November 17 and we've been anticipating the feature since last week.

Towards A Dream

No new blogs from me the past months...not because I have nothing to share but because I've been busy with my fashion accessories business which I do after my day job. Finally, I was able to gather my courage to be an entrepreneur.

I've always wanted to have a business of my own. A restaurant perhaps coz I love to cook (and eat!) or a fashion accessories store. Of the two, the fashion accessories bit seems easier to start. I now have a store...a virtual store over another free website (http://heartspeak.multiply.com) for starters. I do my shopping for raw materials on weekends through my suppliers here and abroad (via internet) and execute my designs on weekday nights. Tiring, yes, until my hands hurt but the task is equally rewarding as I am able to sell my wares and make other people happy.

I also began to join bazaars to widen my reach, my network. My first try was this summer at the Rockwell Urban Bazaar, a joint venture with a friend. I am usually shy about approaching and selling to people face to face but I found myself enjoying every minute of the stint. Maybe because I was confident in what I was selling and I was able to help the clients choose which accessories fit them well. My second bazaar was at Candy Fair of Summit Media's Candy Magazine at NBC Tent last September. It was also a blast as the sales were great but I saw the need to be more vigilant of my wares because I lost 2 necklaces to some kleptos.

This holiday season, am joining the Cubao Expo Weekend Night Bazaar at the Marikina Shoe Expo. So I hope to see you, my friends, on November 17 and December 1, 4 pm to 12 midnight. Also have a stint at the World Bazaar from December 1-16 at the World Trade Center. I still have 2 more bazaars under negotiation this December and I will update you.

In the meantime, I have to get back to work to rush my budget report for November 12 as I leave for Davao for our SME forum from November 13 to 15 and be back on the 16th in time for the budget hearing. Wish me luck! :)
